So it has been over 2 years since Mario Party 8 was released.  Mario Party 8 is great, but like all Mario Party games, you get to this point where even the very hard computers don't stand a chance against you.  We used to have a new Mario Party title every year, now it is looking like this may be the end, since it has been 2 years and still no Mario party nine in the seen future :(

Remember Mario Party 7?  Wasn't it wonderful how it was 8 players?  2 people on each control.  They can totally do that again on the wii for Mario Party nine.  Have one player on the wii-mote, the other on the nunchuck.  Heck, why not throw in the 4 gamecube controls and make it a 16 player game.  Nintendo is always making break throughs by trying new things.  They could totally make a 16 player game.  Then there would have to be at least 20 playable characters, so no one would get stuck as a character without getting a choice.  Characters would have to come in pairs also, just like Mario Party 7.  So I think the cast would be:  Mario and Luig, Yoshi and Birdo, Peach and Daisy, Dry-Bones and Boo, Wario and Waluigi, Toad and Toadette, Dk (returning) and Diddy Kong (new), Hammer Bro. and Blooper, Bowser Jr. (new or returning whatever your preference is) and petey Pirhanna (new), and finally Sonic and Tails (YES special guest stars).  And that would be the perfect Mario Party 9.

UPDATE - Jun 2011

Well, it has been about 2 years since I wrote this blog and it has finally happened!  Nintendo has announced "Mario Party 9" for the Wii coming hopefully later this year.  Hoorah!  ShyGuy and Koopa Troopa are new characters, first time ever being playable in a Mario Party (unless you count Volley Ball mode in Mario Party 4).  Who knows what other secret characters there will be.  I can't wait.

E3 2009

I did not attend E3 this year, but I did find out about "New Super Mario Bros. Wii" and "Super Mario Galaxy 2".  Both titles make me super excited and remind me why I love Nintendo.  Now lets keep our fingers crossed for a "Mario Party 9".
